non bordée
Influenced by the medieval "thousand flower" and the 16th century
"aristolochia" or "cabbage leaves", the Greenery tapestries
appear in Flanders, Brussels and Audenarde in the earl 17th century.
Greenery tapestries could be compared to landscape-painting, no characters, nor
religious or mythological scenes, only nature and occasionally a few animals or
builings in the background.
